An update on our Navigate Initiative and how you can support it.
An inability to hold down a job, get clean or contribute in any meaningful way to society is costing people their futures. Then, there’s the cost to society. It’s not just the approximately $150,000 a year it costs to keep a prisoner locked up, it’s the damage and loss of property, trauma experienced by victims, an intergenerational cycle of crime, poverty and violence harming families and increased pressure on social services and police resources.
For more than 25 years Pathway has been developing a ground-breaking mechanism to reduce our unacceptable recidivism rate, which we call the Navigate Initiative (NI). It starts six to 12 months prior to release and we continue to walk alongside our clients, who have been bestowed the title of Tu Ora (standing well), as they rebuild their lives in the community.
To achieve this we share in a joint venture partnership with the Department of Corrections and our supporters in the community. We run the workshops inside the wire, support men on the outside and fund it through endeavours such as our supporter impact investor programme.
Together, we’re helping people make a fresh start. If you want to help, here’s what you can do…
Individual Impact Investment
The NI is funded via a community investment model. We need individuals, businesses, trusts and churches to back us up. We offer this unique opportunity in the form of ‘supporter shares’, so you can play a very real part in creating powerful social change.
Corporate Impact Investment
Pathway also offers a tailored investment option for corporates. When making a life-changing contribution to our cause, you’ll be personally acknowledged and have your support promoted across multiple channels.
We’re more than happy to take you through any other opportunities to showcase your generosity and how your organisation is directly involved in strengthening our community and making it safer for everyone.
