Tū Ora in the NI unit spread holiday cheer with personalized cards and gifts for their supporters.
The men in the NI unit have been busy screen printing Christmas cards for their families, volunteers who support them, and Corrections and Pathway staff, a tradition that has been a feature of the festive season for several years. Tū Ora have also been ordering boxes of chocolates from a Corrections grocery list to send away with their cards, as Christmas is the only time of year they can do so.
A special bunch of cards will also be sent out to Middleton Grange School. For several years, pupils have made snacks for Tū Ora to enjoy, who return the favour with messages of thanks. This year it was pita crackers, hummus, and brie cheese, which got polished off pretty quickly! It’s a simple but kind gesture from the school which Tū Ora love to receive. It also gives them a boost knowing people unknown to them genuinely care and want to see them make a fresh start. A special thanks to Debbie Johns for creating this awesome initiative at Middleton Grange School.
