Highlighting our supporter Thank You Night 2024.
Not only was it our largest supporter event to date, but we were privileged to hear from a veteran Tū Ora who shared his journey 5 years after release. First incarcerated at age 17 in 2001, Pale spent a total of 14 years behind bars. He began his journey with Pathway in 2019 when he joined the Navigate Initiative. We’ve featured his story before, but it was perhaps even more powerful to hear from him now, as he continues to transform his life 5 years after his release.
Pale spoke openly about his ongoing challenges and the continuous support from our Navigators. He has learned a lot in the time since we last heard from him, and it was a privilege to see how he has developed, especially as a parent. His youngest son joined him on stage, while his oldest son filled the room with live music as guests arrived. Having them, along with several other family members present truly highlighted how Pale has rebuilt these crucial relationships in his life.
The event also featured our annual ‘Volunteer Awards’ which celebrated some of the selfless people who give their time and resources to help provide fresh starts. We wrapped up the memorable night with some delicious desserts, and every supporter received a specially designed tote bag, created and screenprinted by our Tū Ora in the Navigate Initiative unit.
It was a truly special night, so thank you to those of you who came along, and for your continued support as we help people make a fresh start. For those who couldn’t make it, thank you for your contributions to Pathway throughout 2024.
