An update from Jesse and Oak Tree Auckland.
We like to get our far-flung staff in for a catch up when we can and recently Oak Tree Devanning’s Auckland team leader Jesse Hamilton popped into our Mandeville St base for our regular Monday morning get-together.
As is tradition at Pathway, he was presented with a framed bible quote by founding trustee Victor Tan, who took the opportunity to emphasise the importance of the work we do and its impact on the people we support.
Jesse has been with Oak Tree since its return to Auckland in July 2023 after a five-year absence and leads a team of more than 20 staff. It may be the first time Jesse has worked in a leadership role, but he certainly isn’t flustered.
“It’s been great. It’s a bit like a chrysalis opening more and more. There’s definitely not a shortage of workers which I’m really happy about too. Everything is running smoothly,’’ he says.
“I’m happy with where I am and I want to have a lasting impact with the business.’’
Oak Tree Operations Manager Jamie Dale says Jesse did not have a background in devanning but since being with us, has built his knowledge about how devanning and site operation works day-to-day, and has also gained his forklift licence and MPI certificate.
“He’s doing well. He’s our anchor up there…being a leader and site liaison is something he’s really grown into. He’s still got a bit to learn, but he’s taking it in his stride and doing a great job.’’
Names have been changed.
