After the CSO performed alongside Tu Ora on prison grounds several weeks back, a group of Tu Ora living in the community went along to see the orchestra in concert with Kiwi music legend Che Fu and his band at the Christchurch Town Hall.
For several years Pathway has been part of the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra’s community outreach programme, which has introduced our Tu Ora to the joys of making and performing music.
After the CSO performed alongside Tu Ora on prison grounds several weeks back, a group of Tu Ora living in the community went along to see the orchestra in concert with Kiwi music legend Che Fu and his band at the Christchurch Town Hall.
Tu Ora were gifted tickets by the CSO to the show, an extension of the very special partnership that’s grown between us.
Pathway Reintegration unit lead Silvan Danuser says the men absolutely loved the show and were buzzing with excitement afterwards.
He adds that for our Tu Ora it wasn’t just about the music, it’s also about them doing everyday things as everyday people as they continue their journey of transformation.
“For them to be able to go out to the town hall…it’s a big deal and they’re not used to that kind of place. They loved it. It’s a very cool partnership we’ve got.”
Again, thanks to the CSO for their wonderful support!
